XFL fans couldn’t help but poke fun at the press box setup for the Vegas Vipers’ home game against the D.C. Defenders on Saturday.
The Vipers play their home games at Cashman Field, which was initially built to serve as a baseball venue. The Oakland Athletics played six games here in 1996. Their Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators of the Pacific Coast League, played at Cashman Field until 2018.
Needless to say, Cashman Field could use some upgrades in the press box department for football games. Fans couldn’t help but poke fun at the setup for the Vipers’ second game of the 2023 season.

The Vipers fell 18-6 to the Defenders, dropping the home team to 0-2 on the year wile the visitors improved to 2-0. Vegas will try to rebound when they host the Seattle Sea Dragons (also 0-2) on Saturday.
WWE boss Vince McMahon launched the XFL in 2001, but it was canceled after one season due t o financial issues. He brought the league back in 2020, but the season had to be shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the XFL could go to auction, actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital Partners Gerry Cardinale teamed up and purchased the league for $15 million.
