One of Vince McMahon’s most successful employees officially has purchased one of his ventures.
Daniel Kaplan of TheAthletic.com reported that a bankruptcy judge has approved the purchased of the XFL by former WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital.
The assets were acquired for $15 million.
Unsecured creditors had objected to the sale, but with no other viable purchasers, the judge decided to approve the sale.
The XFL declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy April 13th after they were forced to shut the doors to the league due to the coronavirus pandemic.
