The XFL 2023 inaugural season is coming up and they just made another major move this week.
The XFL rolled out its schedule for the 2023 season Thursday with action slated to kick off Feb. 18th.
Here is the opening weekend:
- Feb. 18: Vegas Vipers vs. Arlington Renegades at 3 p.m. ET
- Feb. 18: Orlando Guardians vs. Houston Roughnecks at 8:30 p.m. ET
- Feb. 19: St. Louis Battlehawks vs. San Antonio Brahmas at 3 p.m. ET
- Feb. 19: Seattle Sea Dragons vs. D.C. Defenders at 8 p.m. ET
The regular season will be for 10 weeks and will end on April 23rd. The top four teams qualify for the semifinals before the championship game May 13th.
Vince McMahon originally launched the XFL in 2001 but it only lasted for one season. McMahon relaunched the XFL in 2020 and although things were looking up, global pandemic would shut down just about everything on Earth and the season would end before it could finish. One month later, McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Then came Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his ex-wife Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital purchasing the XFL for $15 million that August.
Now, here we are on the cusp of a third relaunch of the league.
