Artem Chigvintsev’s domestic violence case has led former WWE star Nikki Bella to look for a lawyer.
Sources told TMZ that the 40-year-old former WWE star has been making calls since Friday to file for divorce from the dancer.
The television personality was without her wedding ring while hosting Netflix’s competitive eating special “Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef.”
That happened days after Nikki Bella’s husband, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested in California on domestic battery charges.
“Nikki began the search a day after Artem allegedly attacked her, resulting in some physical injury that triggered his arrest for felony domestic violence,” TMZ wrote.
‘Our sources also say Artem is not staying at the family home … we’re told he’s been staying at a friend’s house. Nikki is in the family house with their 4-year-old son Matteo.”
It remains unclear if Bella was the alleged victim, but he was booked under California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC, which “makes it illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence” and states, “This offense is also referred to as domestic abuse, domestic violence or corporal injury to a spouse.”
The Netflix special, “Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef,” marked Nikki Bella’s first public appearance since her husband’s arrest. It appears she will no longer be seen in public with him again.

Nikki Bella Previously Had a Relationship With John Cena
Nikki Bella is likely headed for a divorce after her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested for domestic violence.
Before she got to the point, she had a whirlwind relationship with John Cena. The two wrestlers first sparked a romantic connection in 2012
The pair’s relationship went to the next level as Cena popped the question in 2017.
However, less than one year later, the pair split over different ideas about the future.
“Overall, we did have such an incredible relationship, it was just two people that wanted two different lives,” Bella said on Maria Menounos’ “Better Together” podcast in May 2020. “We were trying so hard to make it one. Even in the end when he was willing to give me kids, I could just tell, it’s not what he wanted. And that’s really, like, you know, what pushed me in the end.”
