WWE has made a major announcement that should have wrestling fans trying to figure out a way to go to sleep and wake up in 2025.
The company has revealed having reached a deal with Netflix that will make the streaming giant the home of Monday Night Raw from next year. Though the details pertaining to the contract haven’t been disclosed, CNBC is reporting that it is a 10-year deal worth over $5 billion.
A press release from WWE notes that the show will begin airing on said platform in January 2025, with the current NBC Universal deal that sees Raw broadcast on USA Network set to end this coming October. For the moment, there’s nothing on where the show will air between October and January.
The deal will have Netflix become the exclusive home of Raw in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Other countries will be added as time goes by.
Another huge part of the deal will get Netflix all shows and specials that take place outside of the U.S., as well as WWE’s other weekly shows, including SmackDown and NXT, plus the company’s Premium Live Events.
This deal takes Raw off linear television for the first time since it started in 1993, though other shows will still air on cable television, with SmackDown to remain on USA Network and NXT to stay on The CW. Premium Live Events will continue to air on Peacock.
