You just knew this was going to happen as soon as it went down in front of millions of people watching at home.
Will Smith took the stage at the 2022 Oscars to smack Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair. The incident occurred after Rock, who was introducing the award for Best Documentary, joked to Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith in the audience, “Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see ya.”
Smith could be seen smiling and laughing but Jada was disgusted. Her mood likely changed Smith’s mind, so he went on stage to handle things.
“Oh wow,” said a seemingly taken-aback Rock as Smith made his way back to his seat. “Will Smith just smacked the s— out of me.”
In the aftermath, somebody took that video and gave it the Jim Ross treatment.
Chris Rock did not press charges, and accoridng to Diddy, the two of them have talked about the situation.
