Sonya Deville reportedly tore her ACL last month during her match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair and will undergo surgery on Tuesday, according to TMZ Sports.
The WWE tag team champion and her tag team partner, Chelsea Green, won the title on July 17 against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on Raw.
As football fans know, Deville will be out for an extended period of time.
“Sonya DeVille’s run as one half of the WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Champions has just been put on hold … TMZ Sports has learned she’s suffered a serious knee injury that will require surgery,” they reported.
“Our sources say DeVille tore her ACL during her tag team championship match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair on July 28 in New Orleans on SmackDown … and will undergo a procedure on Tuesday to fix the issue.”

A timeline for her return has not been made public, though ACL tears can keep athletes out for a year.
The women’s tag team belt was last vacated in May, when Morgan was injured. As you may notice in the comments above, many fans think the belts are indeed a curse.
Deville and Green never were given a chance to defend the titles.
The 29-year-old has been with WWE since 2015, first appearing under NXT. She was drafted to RAW in late April. Her tag-team title with Green was the first championship in her career.
