The fight that MMA fans always wanted to see clearly wasn’t happening anymore after Ronda Rousey got knocked out twice in her last two fights in the UFC. She then took her talents to the WWE for the foreseeable future.
While Rousey is flourishing in the WWE — Cyborg is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Amanda Nunes, who also destroyed Rousey during his last match, but it seems the two fighters just might meet someday down the road.
Cyborg has stated once before that she would take on Rousey in a scripted bout in the WWE in the past. Last month, Justino visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida leading to speculation over a potential roll in with the company.
That was a little too close for comfort for Rousey, because according to Terez Owens, the former Bantamweight Champion is refusing to re-sign with the WWE if they bring Cyborg into any storyline with her.
“This comes to us via our tip box. Rumor Ronda is refusing to resign with the WWE if they bring Cris Cyborg into the storyline. Owens reported this week. “Sources say with the WWE’s interest cooling that Team Cyborg has recently been approached about making her in-ring debut with All Elite Wrestling. I hope this happens, she might make the best MMA star turned pro wrestler ever.”
The trash taking between the two fighters have been going on for years as they clearly do not like each other. Only time will tell if WWE will add Cyborg on, because Rousey is tied into a contract that extends to 2021.
