Former WWE star Ashley Massaro died Thursday in Suffolk County, N.Y., the WWE announced.
WWE released a statement Thursday: “We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro. WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends.”
Via TMZ:
“Officials would not reveal the cause of death at this point, but we’re told it’s being classified as “non-criminal.”
Massaro was active on Twitter as recent as Wednesday, when she tweeted that she had just answered a bunch of fan mail.

Massaro made her debut in WWE after winning the WWE Diva Search in 2005. She received a one-year, $250,000 contract and wrestled for the company from 2005-08.
She would’ve turned 40-years-old on May 26th. Details on Massaro’s death have not been released.
