Former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio has not wrestled for the company since 2017 and for good reason after he got himself arrested and is facing charges for sexual assault.
The unidentified woman claimed Del Rio, whose real name is Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, injured and sexually assaulted her, News 4 in San Antonio reported.
The report said Del Rio “had become angry with a woman and assaulted her, causing multiple injuries to her body” on May 3rd. She would go on to tell police he “forced her to wear a dress and dance for him” and that if she began crying he “would take her son and drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.”
He has formally been charged with sexual assault, which carries a second-degree felony. He has since been released on bond.
Del Rio signed with Impact Wrestling in 2017 and left the company in 2018. The former WWE world champion also lost to UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz in an MMA fight in July 2019.
