Pro wrestling legend “Superstar” Billy Graham has passed away at 79 years old.
Graham’s health had been deteriorating for decades, and he had recently been placed on life support. According to his wife, Valerie, he had been hospitalized for several months due to an infection and organ failure that necessitated emergency surgery earlier this month.
Doctors wanted to take him off life support, she stated in a Facebook post on Monday, but she refused.
Graham was battling numerous health issues that included acute kidney failure, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and hearing loss.
Ric Flair broke the news of Graham’s death, which was confirmed by TMZ.
Graham is a three-time former world champion professional wrestler, including a 1977-78 title run in the WWWF, the New York territory promotion that eventually became WWE. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
