WNBA fans were left confused during the dying moments of a game between the Chicago Sky and Seattle Storm on Sunday.
The Storm, down five points with 15 seconds to go, just stopped playing. While a five-point deficit is a difficult one to overcome with just 15 seconds left, it’s certainly not impossible. One would expect them to ramp up attempts to get closer on the scoreboard, but they let the clock run out instead.
Even the Sky called it in early and didn’t even try to get a body on guard Jordan Horston, leaving her with a wide-open shot that could have made it a one-possession game.
Check it out here:
Jewell Lloyd motioned in an attempt to get the ball in the corner but Horston kept it, taking a few dribbles while walking toward the rim before passing it out as time expired.
The 90-85 loss marked a third-straight defeat for the Storm – who were outscored 22-10 in the fourth quarter – and left them with a 10-25 record.

Of course, tanking and match-fixing accusations popped up.
That Sue Bird retired at the end of last season, while Breanna Stewart left in free agency, joining the New York Liberty, put Seattle in a bad position. They could certainly use a favorable draft pick.
