Three fans were thrown out of a WNBA game between the Minnesota Lynx and Dallas Wings on Tuesday after an injury was seemingly cheered.
Wings star Satou Sabally crumpled to the floor in apparent pain after attempting a three-pointer with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the Lynx’s 91-86 victory and landing on the foot of Bridget Carlton.
Lynx fans were seen yelling at Sabally while she remained on the ground, with a trainer making checks.
The fans drew attention from players, coaches, and security, while Bally Sports play-by-play announcer Marney Gellner called a particular supporter out for her shameful behavior.
“There is a fan sitting in the second row, and she is a Lynx fan, and she has been completely inappropriate tonight,” Gellner was heard saying. “And she is yelling at a player that is hurt on the court…she’s been at it for most of the second half tonight, and I honestly hope they are asking her to leave because it has not been a good representation of Minnesota Lynx basketball at all.”
The announcer also pointed out that Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale and head coach Cheryl Reeve got involved with the fan and asked her to stop.

“Here goes the fan, escorted out, and I think that’s the right move,” she continued. “It’s not a good representation of what the Lynx are about. I don’t know what she said to me, but she just gave me some words on the way out as well. That’s a nice exit.”
Sabally was able to get back up and make three free throws, blowing a kiss to the Lynx fans after hitting the second.
That wasn’t all, though, as officials directed security to another pair of fans, one of whom Bally cameras put on display as he stormed off remonstrating.
