Caitlin Clark got the second win of her young WNBA career on Saturday following a rough 1-8 start for the Indiana Fever, and it couldn’t have come against a better team.
The Fever secured a marginal 71-70 victory over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on the day, ruining the latter’s bid to get to a game over .500 with a much-improved performance.
Clark, who went cold from beyond the arc after hitting her first two attempts at three, scored just 11 points but will particularly enjoy this win, though it came at a bit of a cost as she was treated to a very harsh foul.
It’s starting to seem like there really is a consensus among WNBA players to rough the rookie up.
The Sky’s Chennedy Carter was the perp this time, hitting Caitlin with a nasty body check after scoring, knocking her to the ground before the ball was even inbounded. She somehow got away with a common foul.

Caitlin Clark Has Addressed The Way She’s Been Targeted So Far
Caitlin Clark addressed the way she’s been targeted as a rookie earlier this week, admitting it’s been a tough experience.
“I think everybody is physical with me, they get away with things that probably other people don’t get away with,” she told reporters after the Fever lost to the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday. “It’s tough, but that’s just the fact of the matter. This is a very physical game, and you’re going to get pressure, this is professional basketball. It is what it is, honestly.”
It’s becoming harder to defend this kind of behavior towards Clark. But, to her credit, she’s taken it well.
