Candace Parker, widely regarded as one of the greatest WNBA players of all time, spent 13 seasons with the Sparks, two seasons with the Chicago Sky, and one season with the Las Vegas Aces before retiring on April 28, 2024.
Unfortunately, the 2023 WNBA season was challenging for Parker as she had to undergo surgery for a foot fracture in July, which kept her out indefinitely. Despite her injury, the two-time consensus national player of the year averaged 16 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the 18 games she played that season. Despite Parker’s absence, the Aces managed to win the 2023 WNBA Finals against the New York Liberty, claiming the series 3–1.
Parker is a highly talented player with exceptional skills. In addition to her amazing talent on the court, she can be a good coach in the future. Recently, the three-time WNBA champion was observed cheering Vanessa and Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Bianka, on the basketball court. Parker shared a photo on her Instagram story along with a note.
“Look at the wrist loaded under the ball…. On her toes…. Basketball in her blood! #MiniMamba Aunty Candace is so proud of you BB and you too coach! [Vanessa Bryant].” Parker wrote in her latest Instagram story.
Kobe Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers throughout his career. A quite similar was done by Candace Parker, as she played most of the seasons of her professional career with Los Angeles. Parker, a close friend of the late Kobe Bryant, has been an inspiration to many young girls, motivating them to believe in themselves. Seeing Parker support Bryant’s daughter on the basketball court is genuinely remarkable.

“I think it’s unbelievable what she’s been able to accomplish. It’s been so cool to see her relish in people telling her she can’t and she won’t be successful,” Parker said at 2024 ESPY.
