The WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury has been called out by one of their stars over their poor treatment of her.
Skylar Diggins-Smith hasn’t seen any action this season as she’s currently on maternity leave. But it appears she will not be suiting up for the Mercury when she returns as she’s taken to social media to trash them for the way they’ve dealt with her while she’s been out.
The six-time All-Star has revealed that she isn’t permitted to use the team’s practice facilities or other resources during the period.
The tweet, which can be seen below, was posted in response to a fan pointing out that the team did not even wish her a happy birthday when she turned 33 on Wednesday.
“They’re not gonna acknowledge me this year and it’s ok guys,” she noted. “We’re not affiliated unless it’s the checks….per management. I can’t even use the practice facility or any resources. But I still love the X-Factor!!”
Skylar would also point out that she has no access to team staff such as massage therapists and nutritionists after someone picked up on her original tweet.

“Sadly, no…or any massage therapists, chiropractor, chefs, strength and conditioning, nutritionist accessibility, etc… they EVERY other player has access to,” she continued. “However I’m still down 48lbs on my own and I’m feeling great.”
The point guard also pointed to the fact that she was leading the league in minutes and is now being victimized because she did not want to put herself or her baby at risk.
It’s likely that the matter could be investigated by the WNBA too.
