There’s no denying that Caitlin Clark has been a huge factor in raising viewership and attendance throughout the WNBA. You don’t have to say it’s solely because of her, but she’s helped.
That became extremely obvious when news broke of Clark’s “Lionel Messi-Like” offer to participate in the new Unrivaled women’s 3-on-3 basketball league.
It’s unclear what the exact figures of the offer are as of now, but it’s worth noting that it’s significant enough to be compared to Messi’s $150 million contract, which includes partial ownership and other financial incentives.
Everyone on social media is now left saying the same about Clark and her impact on women’s basketball.
“And ppl try and act like she’s not the biggest part of why the wnba was as popular as it was this szn. This league was started by Breanna Stewart and they’re going all in to get Caitlin. Why? Bc they know they’ll need those eyes to make this thing work being real,” said one comment.

“Caitlin Clark should be getting a Messi like contract with the WNBA itself as well in the next CBA!” said another.
“If she gets this deal it’s bad for the new CBA in the wnba. These players think they’re the reason everything went up, but they’re about to see their true value to the league and fans lol. If they get a huge wage it’s because the wnba is gonna need to keep up for Clark’s pay,” continued a third.
Caitlin Clark Could Participate In Both Leagues
Of course, even if Clark did take this offer, she could still participate and play every game for the Indianan Fever.
The Unrivaled basketball league will start in January and last two months, which coincides with the WNBA offseason.
