Authorities in Las Vegas have launched an investigation into the disappearance of WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu’s sneakers.
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told TMZ as much on Friday, confirming a report was made after the New York Liberty point guard discovered that two pairs of her shoes had been stolen from the Michelob ULTRA Arena, having played the Aces twice this week.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” the spokesperson told the publication, noting that no arrests have been made.
Ionescu had taken to X on Thursday to vent over the stolen kicks and plead for her insoles to be returned.
“Never thought I would get my shoes stolen from an opposing arena,” she wrote. “Please just bring me my insoles back,” she added … “RIP to my Sabrina 1s.”
The 25-year-old also posted photos of the two pairs of sneakers she claims were stolen – one in an Oregon Ducks colorway and another grey one she got to honor Nike founder Phil Knight.

Ionescu’s Sabrina 1s are set for a September 1 launch following an endorsement deal she signed with Nike in 2020 that made her the first female basketball player to have a unisex lineup with the sportswear giants.
