ESPN recently released their final WNBA rookie rankings for the 2024 season, and despite being out with an injury, Reese hadn’t dropped much at all.

Some of the top rookies on ESPN’s list include Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, and New York Liberty forward Leonie Fiebich.
Clark was listed as the No. 1 rookie in the WNBA, while Angel Reese sat right behind her at No. 2.
Reese ended her rookie year averaging 13.6 points and a league-leading 13.1 rebounds per game, per her stats on ESPN.
Does Angel Reese Still Have A Chance To Win Rookie Of The Year?
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was having a spectacular year before her injury.
The 22-year-old held the WNBA record holder for most rebounds in a single season when she recorded her 418th in a 79-74 defeat against the Minnesota Lynx on September 1st.
She would announce she was done for the year on September 7th,
It took just ten days for that rebounds record to slip through Reese’s fingers at the hands of Las Vegas Aces star and MVP frontrunner A’ja Wilson.
If there was a reasonable discourse early in the season whether Reese or Caitlin Clark would win the Rookie of The Year, it is likely over now.
Reese was considered a challenger to Indiana Fever rookie superstar Caitlin Clark for WNBA Rookie of the Year honors.
However, Clark has all but put the debate away over the last month as she has broken the assists record and then the single-season rookie scoring record.
