Last week, there was a lot of talk about what the Washington Post would say about LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey. Over the weekend, the Washington Post published a detailed report about LSU Tigers’ head coach, Kim Mulkey.
Before the article was published, Mulkey publicly criticized it because it portrayed homosexuality as a sin for her. Following the article’s release, Mulkey shared additional comments regarding the matter.
Kim Mulkey was accused of being homoeopathic
The LSU women’s basketball coach, known for her conservative views and negative attitude towards LGBTQ+ individuals, recently criticized the Washington Post and the media in general. She claimed they were planning a “hit piece” that would expose her past wrongdoings based on accounts from former players. Despite having two years to participate in the article’s interview, she declined, and now she’s portraying herself as a victim as the release date approaches.
Her strategy mirrors former President Trump’s, where she attacks the media instead of addressing valid criticisms. This behavior, coupled with her overall negative reputation, suggests that the accusations against her, which likely include discrimination based on sexual orientation and race, are likely true. Interestingly, her public outcry about the article will probably attract more readers than if she had stayed silent, a phenomenon known as the Streisand Effect.
Kim reacts to reveling report
Kim Mulkey mentioned that she didn’t have time to read the story about her in the Washington Post before her essential game on Saturday. The article Mulkey had warned the outlet about before its release came out just before LSU’s victory over UCLA in the Sweet 16 clash on Saturday afternoon.

Mulkey expressed her reaction to ESPN’s Holly Rowe when informed about the article’s publication, stating, “You’re sharing news that’s new to me, whether good or bad.” She indicated that she hadn’t read the article and might not, leaving that decision to her legal team.
After the game, Mulkey reiterated her stance, suggesting that the article’s timing aimed for attention or distraction. The article covered Mulkey’s alleged treatment of gay players, her association with Brittney Griner, her actions during her time at Baylor amid a scandal, details about her father, and her comments on LSU’s Angel Reese.
Mulkey’s lawyers denied mistreating gay players and disputed claims of not supporting Griner during her time in Russia. Mulkey had previously criticized the Washington Post and the reporter, Kent Babb when rumors of the article surfaced last week.
