Joe Rogan recently took some time to discuss Brittney Griner’s case in Russia on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast and he did not mince a single word.
Brittney Griner’s trial continues in a Russian court after she unintentionally pleaded guilty to having cannabis oil cartridges for vaping in her luggage. For those charges, she could receive up to 10 years in prison.
The UFC color commentator was appalled by Russia’s ongoing detainment of the basketball star.
“Fuck, that’s horrible,” Rogan said during an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience with guest Paul Virzi. “It’s over nothing. It’s like she’s the clearest form of political prisoner.”
“I’m not a very political person, in that sense,” Rogan said. “I’d like to see them resolve this, but I think it’s just one part of a bigger problem.”
“It’s a publicity thing they’re showing their big dick. It’s like f-ck you, we’ll just keep your girl and lock her up in a cage, f-ck you.

Like many have said before, Rogan thinks the Russia/Ukraine war played a part in Griner getting arrested and detained.
“I would like them to work this out, but I think it’s part of a bigger problem. The bigger problem is that Russia has invaded Ukraine,. Like if she would have gone over there a year and a half ago it would have been no big deal.”
Griner, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and standout for the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February after customs officials said they found vape canisters containing cannabis oil in her luggage.
The next hearing of Griner’s case was scheduled for July 26.
