There’s cringeworthy, and then there’s Larry Elder.
The conservative talk show host was seemingly looking for something controversial to say in order to attract some attention. So he decided he’s try his hand at mocking WNBA star Brittney Griner, who’s currently being held in Russia on cannabis charges.
Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport in mid-November after customs officials searched her luggage and found vape cartridges containing cannabis oil — which is illegal in Russia and could carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. One legal expert recently suggested that the USA basketball star could be possibly be looking at five years in a Russian labor camp.
It’s certainly no laughing matter, but that didn’t stop Elder. He took to Twitter to mock Griner, all because she protested the national anthem.
Larry Elder, ladies and gentlemen. A man who is apparently against free speech and find it should be punishable by Russian imprisonment.

I’m not sure exactly what program Elder is the host of (nor do I care to bother looking), but if this is his desperate attempt to get that show more ratings, it doesn’t get much lower than that.
