A teammate of Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter claims that a video of a man confronting her at the team hotel “was edited” and failed to show most of the incident.
Chennedy Carter made headlines last Saturday in Chicago’s road contest against the Indiana Fever when she delivered a cheap shot to rookie guard Caitlin Clark after making a two-point shot. Officials initially called a foul on Carter, but the WNBA reviewed the play and upgraded it to a flagrant foul.
Video footage of a man confronting Carter at the team hotel in Washington, DC has surfaced. He asks Carter if she has had the opportunity to speak to Clark, with a team security guard staffer trying to get the man to stop:
After the video surfaced, Sky forward Michaela Onyenwere took to X/Twitter and stated that it ‘was edited” and didn’t show the more heated portions of the confrontation. Onyenwere said he called them “ghetto (expletives) and that ‘women’s sports isn’t (expletive).

Fortunately, Chicago team security managed to diffuse the situation before it escalated any further, so kudos to the staff for keeping their players safe.
Chennedy Carter and teammate Angel Reese (who was seen celebrating the foul on Clark) both refused to apologize for the cheap shot, with Reese stating that she has no issue being the villain.
Indiana went on to win the game 71-70 to snap a three-game losing skid.
