Earlier today, it was reported that WNBA star Brittney Griner was being released from Russian prison and returning to the United States of America following an agreement between the two countries on a big-time prisoner swap.
Going the other way was renowned arms dealer Viktor Bout, who earned the nickname, “The Merchant of Death.” He was serving a 25-year sentence in the U.S. after being convicted for conspiring to kill Americans.
Needless to say, social media had plenty to say about the deal:
Now, we have actual footage of the prisoner swap taking place on an airport tarmac in the United Arab Emirates.
In the video, Bout and Griner are shown being escorted by agents on the tarmac. The two even appear to come face-to-face at one point during the exchange.

Griner was arrested earlier this year when she was caught with vape products containing cannabis at a Russian airport.
