Brittney Griner has made up her mind about representing Team USA.
The WNBA star returned to playing domestically earlier this year following her release from a Russian prison and posted 17.5 points per game for the Phoenix Mercury. There were questions over whether she would return to the national team given certain stances. However, according to ESPN, the Texas native will be suiting up for the American side.
Griner, as well as her WNBA teammate Diana Taurasi, will play some games against college teams which will mark her first bit of action for Team USA since she was detained in Russia.
The 33-year-old has much-needed experience, having won two Olympic gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 games. She has also helped the U.S. win two FIBA World Cups (2014 and 2018).
Team USA will be looking to win a 10th consecutive gold medal when they suit up for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
They will play exhibition games against Tennessee and Duke on November 5 and November 12 in preparation.
