Brittney Griner has finally dealt with her first heckler, but it did not come at a WNBA game.
According to the league, “a social media figure and provocateur” approached Griner in a manner that was “inappropriate and unfortunate.”
WNBPA executive director Terri Jackson revealed that she received calls from the players saying that the man approached them while they were getting food at the airport and started asking questions “in a threatening way.”
On Twitter, Prime Time with Alex Stein posted a snippet of him asking Griner questions as she moved through the airport.
“Do you still want to boycott America?
Somebody on the team could be heard yelling, “You’re weird, bro?”
He responded with, “I’m weird, why? She hates America.”

Victor Bout was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison in 2012 after he was convicted of selling arms to Colombian rebels, which prosecutors said were intended to kill Americans. The Russian government had been demanding his release ever since, saying he was unfairly targeted.
In December 2022, he would get his freedom after the U.S. Government traded him for Brittney Griner, who was imprisoned in Russia after being convicted of drug smuggling.
