What was expected is happening with the XFL as viewership dipped for a second consecutive week across ABC and ESPN.
Saturday’s early game of the Houston Roughnecks vs. Tampa Bay Vipers game on ABC averaged 1,914,000 viewers, which was down from 2.3 million viewers in Week Two.
Saturday’s late game between Dallas and Seattle dropped from 2.3 million viewers in Week Two to 2.1 million in Week Three.
Sunday’s New York Guardians vs St. Louis BattleHawks game on ESPN averaged 1,473,000 viewers, dropping from 2.4 million viewers on ABC in Week Two.
Also, Sunday’s game between the DC Defenders vs LA Wildcats on FS1 dropped from 1.4 million viewers in Week Two to 1.0 million viewers in Week Three.
Those are not terrible numbers, and while elss people have tuned in, more of them are showing up to watch the games in person.

“The XFL posted overall attendance of 81,942 for its four-game weekend slate in Week 3, with an average of just over 20,000 fans per game. Attendance has increased each week since the XFL’s debut on Feb. 6 and was up considerably compared to Week 1, which drew a total of 69,818 fans.”
The St. Louis BattleHawks had a playoff like atmosphere while drawing the largest announced XFL crowd to date, with 29,554 fans in attendance.
On the bad side, the DC Defenders and the Los Angeles Wildcats in LA drew just 12,211 fans.
The Tampa Bay Vipers brought out 18,117 fans while Seattle got 22,060 fans to come out.
