A hot mic caught Quinten Dormady, the quarterback of the XFL’s Orlando Guardians, complaining about the officials.
Now, players complain to (and about) referees in any sport at any given time, but you don’t hear it on a hot mic too often. A clip of Dormady trashing the officials during Saturday’s home game against the Seattle Sea Dragons has gone viral.
You can view the clip below:
Dormady completed 24 of 44 passes for 243 yards, zero touchdowns and no interceptions in the 26-19 loss. The Guardians are now 0-6 to start the 2023 season, while the Sea Dragons improved their record to 4-2.
Seattle was led by former Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Ben DiNucci, who completed 18 of 35 pass attempts for 177 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. DiNucci was also Seattle’s leading rusher with 43 yards on just six carries.
The XFL was initially launched by then-WWE chairman Vince McMahon in 2001, but financial issues caused the league to cease operations after one season. McMahon relaunched the league in 2020, but the new season was canceled early because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before McMahon could put the XFL up for auction, it was purchased by wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, business partner and ex-wife Dany Garcia and Redbird Capital Founder Gerry Cardinale.
After a near three-year wait, the XFL relaunched last February.
