DC Defenders offensive lineman Jean Delance was ejected during his UFL debut in the club’s frustrating Week 1 loss to the San Antonio Brahmas.
Jean Delance was penalized and ejected in the fourth quarter of the Defenders’ first ever UFL game for spitting on Brahmas linebacker Delontae Scott. The penalty proved costly, too, as the Defenders failed to score again after the infraction:
DC had a touchdown called back on a penalty following a challenge by San Antonio. So they had those six points taken off the board and never scored again, as the Brahmas added some fourth quarter insurance en route to a 27-12 victory in the franchise’s first UFL game.
Delance played college football for the Florida Gators. He joined the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad late in the 2022 season after brief stops with the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears, though Delance never wound up playing an NFL game.

The UFL launched this past weekend, three months after the official announcement that the XFL and USFL (United States Football League) were merging to form the UFL. The XFL had been revived for one season in 2023 following a three-year hiatus.
Week 2 UFL Schedule
There are two games scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday this week.
Week 2 of the 2024 UFL season will kick off with San Antonio visiting the 1-0 Memphis Showboats at noon EST. The day will conclude with the Arlington Renegades visiting the St. Louis Battlehawks (8:00 p.m. EST) in a battle of two winless teams.
Then on Sunday, the Birmingham Stallions will pay a visit to Michigan to take on the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. EST. Both clubs won their NFL debuts over the weekend. The Houston Roughnecks will then travel to DC to take on the Defenders to wrap up Week 2 of the UFL season. The loser of that contest will fall to 0-2
