In 2023, two separate leagues, the USFL and XFL, have hopes that NFL fans will tune in to watch their leagues in record numbers.
Americans love any football, but do they love it enough to watch two separate leagues? They just might if both leagues decided to go to war with each other like the WWE and WCW used to do back in the day with professional wrestling.
Ahead of their launch for the 2023 season, the USFL is gearing up to run a ton of promos to make sure fans know their season is about to begin.
This week, they dropped a new commercial that was eye-opening, because fans think they were taking shots at The Rock and his XFL ownership.
The promo below has a speaker say, “this is the USFL, reborn from the OGs. This isn’t some Hollywood knockoff.”
The two leagues have their critics who cling to old stereotypes like the football is bad and crowds are small, but the more they stick around over the years to come, the more eyes will continue to come to the leagues.

If the two leagues decided to start going to war with each other, that can only create more interest in the two leagues.
Here’s how fans reacted online:
The XFL launched — again — in February with its third iteration, and the USFL will kick off its second season on April 15.
There are only about 2,200 roster spots for NFL players at a given time, so the launch of two leagues that could extend playing careers while putting players on TV to give them exposure is surely a great thing.
These are blue-collar leagues for players hungry to stay in the game or get a big break that can launch a career.
