It has been a crazy few months for the XFL that was seeing a resurgence in the 2.0 version of the football league, only to see it die a painful quick death at the hands of the coronavirus pandemic.
Since then, the company has shut its doors, laid off its employees, and declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Not to mention, there was a falling out between Oliver Luck and Vince McMahon.
The gloom and doom might be taking a turn for the better when CBS Sports writer Jason La Canfora published a lengthy article about how the NFL should purchase the spring league which would provide them with a developmental league that will definitely become profitable.
XFL News Hub’s Mark Perry recently sat down with noted XFL insider Mike Mitchell to talk about everything when he dropped a bombshell.
“I know that media companies have made inquiries on the possibility of purchasing the XFL. I do know that both FOX and Disney have inquired. What I do not know is whether or not they are part of the 20 potential bidders and companies now that are in on the potential auction process. But I do know that FOX and Disney have shown interest in purchasing the XFL.“
