It’s been a rough professional football career for Johnny Manziel.
Highly touted while in college stating as a member of the Aggies, he never brought that greatness to the NFL as the Cleveland Browns eventually got sick of his antics and released him.
As partying it up for awhile, he decided to get serious again and join the Canadian Football League. It did not go well and he found himself being released and forever banned from playing in the league again.
He then took his talents to the AAF, where he would last two weeks before the entire upstart football league would go belly-up and all football related operations would cease.
He now has a new plan to get himself back into the public eye: Join the XFL.
The 26-year-old recently stated his willingness to join the revival of the league to reporters on Saturday and already has a team in mind, telling John McClain of the Houston Chronicle that he would like to play for Jones in Houston after previously playing for him in Hamilton, in the Canadian Football League.

“I enjoyed every single day I had with coach Jones,” Manziel said. “Being in his offense was the best part of each day. I know he’s going to be successful wherever he’s coaching.”
“It’s a stone’s throw from College Station,” he said. “A lot of Aggies drove from Houston to College Station. Houston’s a great city that’ll always be near and dear to me.”
Manziel’s name alone would garner millions of eyeballs on a league that was already going to have people interested in how they fare for the second time around.
