Sports broadcasting giants ESPN announced their lineup for XFL coverage in 2023 this Wednesday.
The football league is set to return under new ownership, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia having taken over from former WWE boss Vince McMahon.
XFL play will resume on February 18, and a schedule was released last week. Disney and ESPN have been named as exclusive partners.
As such, ESPN has revealed its lineup and format as it pertains to the once-defunct league and the coverage of its games. The network will have four broadcast teams, each featuring the traditional play-by-play commentator, game analyst, and sideline reporter. However, there will be an additional analyst on the field.

This comes alongside a statement from the XFL and ESPN.
Each ESPN team brings extensive expertise and their backgrounds in college football make them incredibly informed about the players who will be stars at the pro level in the XFL. This talented group of voices, combined with the many on-field production innovations we have planned for this season, will provide fans with unprecedented access to all facets of the XFL.

The teams will cover every XFL game every weekend on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, and FX. All the games will be available via ESPN+ as well.
