The Wimbledon Tournament, which takes place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, has long been known as a very conservative place with a strict dress code. Revealing outfits have often been frowned upon, but it seems as though the times are changing.
During her first round matchup against former champion Angelique Kerber, Kristina Mladenovic sported a very short ‘crop top’. Although she lost the match in straight sets 6-0, 7-5, she won over many fans with her outfit.
Tennis journalist Carole Bouchard had one of the more interesting takes when she tweeted, “Mladenovic playing in what the young gen is calling is calling a crop top, but what my gen is calling a bra.”
“Sign of the times that Wimbleson has no issue with that,” she continues.
Here are a few of the other reactions to Kristina’s outfit:

It is good to see that Wimbledon is starting to relax the rules concerning dress code. They still have an all-white clothing policy, which dates back to the 1800’s, that many fans and current players would like to see changed.
The very outspoken tennis star Nick Kyrgios was quoted saying the following, per The Daily Mail:
“I think it would be cool to allow, like, a black headband or sweatband,…. I think it would look cool. Obviously Wimbledon doesn’t really care what looks cool…. I don’t think it will ever change.”
Maybe one day, Nick.
