On the tennis court, Nick Kyrgios can do just about anything he wants to because of his insane talent.
However, it’s his behavior off the court that has him facing some serious time behind bars.
Kyrgios will appear in an Australian court next month because of an assault charge. His ex-girlfriend, Chiara Passari, alleges he grabbed her in December 2021.
Australian Federal Police confirmed Tuesday that the 27-year-old is set to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Aug. 2 on “one charge of common assault,” The Canberra Times reported.
If convicted, Kyrgios could face up to two years in prison.
“Nick Kyrgios will appear in Australian court next month on an assault charge after allegedly grabbing his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari. Kyrgios faces up to two years in prison if convicted,” said Bleacher Report.

Kyrgios and his lawyer, Jason Moffett, are both aware of the allegation.
“The nature of the allegation is serious, and Mr. Kyrgios takes the allegation very seriously,” Moffett told Australia’s Canberra Times, via ESPN.com.
He added, “While Mr. Kyrgios is committed to addressing any and all allegations once clear, taking the matter seriously does not warrant any misreading of the process Mr. Kyrgios is required to follow.
The 27-year-old takes on Chile’s Cristian Garin in the quarterfinals this Wednesday.
