Maria Sharapova returned to Wimbledon exactly 20 years (to the day) after winning said tournament.
The Russian star claimed the Grand Slam as a 17-year-old back in 2004, one of the five Grand Slams she won in her career.
She made a comeback this week, this time as a spectator, but was hardly recognizable as she’s no longer rocking the blonde hair she was known for during her playing days.
She’s all brunette now, and a photo of her sporting her new look is going viral.
“20 years to the day since her victory on Centre Court, @MariaSharapova watches on from the Royal Box 🤩 Wonderful to have you with us, Maria 💚,” the Wimbledon account shared to X.

“Good to see her once again,” one wrote.
“So much class! IMO she’s definitely one of the best that ever played the game,” another chimed in.
“Still looks fabulous,” said another.

What Maria Sharapova Had To Say
Maria Sharapova hadn’t been back at Wimbledon until this Wednesday and admitted that it felt a bit unreal.
“I feel like it’s been nice to reconnect with tennis venues again, to visit as a spectator,” she said, per Tennis.com. “I constantly watch you guys on Tennis Channel all the time. I love watching the sport and supporting all the great names in the new generation that’s coming up.
“But it’s a very different feeling being back. Although I have a healthy distance, I still feel like I’m a competitor at heart. You see those momentum swings in a match and you know that it’s an important moment…
“Being a spectator here is a lot of fun.”
Maria left tennis with 36 WTA title wins, including five majors – Wimbledon (1), Australian Open (1), U.S. Open (1), and French Open (2).
She also won three doubles titles.
