The tennis crowd is seemingly turning on Naomi Osaka.
The 23-year-old defending champ was booed multiple times during her matchup against Leylah Fernandez during the 2021 US Open on Friday. The first one came when the crowd thought she was taking a bit too long in between sets on the sidelines.
It happened again when she smashed her racket against Arthur Ashe Stadium’s court” and “chucked her equipment” which sent it bouncing to the net.
The 23-year-old damaged her racket on three occasions in the match and never received a code violation.
