Will Levis was born on September 18, 2000, in Madison, Connecticut, and attended Xavier High School, where he played football and basketball. Levis initially committed to play football at Penn State University, where he played for two seasons before transferring to Kentucky in 2021.
At Penn State, he served as the backup quarterback to Sean Clifford and played in nine games, completing 57.1% of his passes for 644 yards and three touchdowns. In his first season at Kentucky, Levis emerged as the team’s starting quarterback, starting all 13 games and throwing for 2,322 yards and 13 touchdowns while also rushing for 478 yards and 10 touchdowns.
