Tyron Woodley was a college wrestler for the University of Missouri. He fought in his first professional fight in 2009 and won via submission in the first round. He made his Strikeforce debut in 2009, and his UFC debut in 2013. Woodley faced off against Robbie Lawler in 2016 and won via knockout, claiming the UFC Welterweight Championship. He was able to defend this title four times until Kamaru Usman took it from him in 2019.
In August of 2021, Woodley took on internet personality Jake Paul in his professional boxing debut. He ultimately lost by split decision. He ended up fighting Paul again in December of that same year but was knocked out in the sixth round.
