Tyler Herro played college basketball for the University of Kentucky where he won SEC Newcomer of the Year – AP in 2019 and made it to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2019. He decided to enter the 2019 NBA Draft and was selected 13th overall by the Miami Heat. He started his first game as a rookie and helped bring his team to a victory in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. He then became the first player born in the 2000’s to play in an NBA Final. He also became the youngest player to start in an NBA Finals game at 20 years and 256 days old.
In 2021, Herro became the first player in Heat franchise history to record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds off of the bench, helping him get awarded the 2022 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
Tyler Herro’s contract is a 4-year, $130 million contract extension with the Heat. Tyler Herro’s girlfriend is Katya Elise Henry, and the two have one child and are expecting another in 2023.
