Trey Lance is a quarterback in the NFL and currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Lance played college football for North Dakota State and helped bring the school the 2020 NCAA Division 1 Football Championship. He was selected third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Trey Lance’s contract is a four-year, $34.1 million rookie deal.
He started his 2021 season as a backup to Jimmy Garoppolo. He was brought in for one play in week 1 where he threw a five-yard touchdown. He started seeing significant playing time after week 4 when Garoppolo was injured and was on and off the field throughout the rest of the season. In 2022 Lance was named the starting quarterback over Garoppolo but was only able to play in two games before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in week 2.
