By the age of 20, Tiger Woods was a professional golfer. Less than a year after turning pro, he reached number one in the Official World Golf Ranking. He was ranked number one from 1999-2004 and again from 2005-2010 during which he won 13 of golf’s major championships.
In 2010, Woods took a personal hiatus from golf after admitting to multiple infidelities, which ultimately ended his marriage to Elin Nordegren. He fell to number 58 in the world before working his way back to number one between 2013-2014. He had four back surgeries between 2014-2017, and in 2021 he suffered significant leg injuries after a single-car accident. Woods was driving nearly twice the speed limit, going 80 mph when he crashed. He thought his career was over but was able to return to the PGA Tour during the 2022 Masters.
