Sean McVay’s grandfather was the head coach of the New York Giants in the 1970’s and served as general manager of the San Francisco 49ers for the team’s five Super Bowl championships during the 1980 and 1990’s. Sean began his coaching career with the Buccaneers in 2008 when he was just 22. McVay went on to inherit the Los Angeles Rams when the team was in last place for points, total yards, touchdown passes, and first downs. After dramatic improvements and strong coaching moves, he was named NFL Coach of the Year in 2018 by the Associated Press.
In the 2018 season, McVay was the youngest coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance, only to fall to the New England Patriots. In 2021, McVay made history again as the youngest head coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl at age 36. Sean McVay’s wife is Veronika Khomyn, a former model from Ukraine.
