Wilson played college football at NC State and Wisconsin before entering the 2012 NFL Draft. Russell was selected as the 75th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. His contract was a four-year $2.99 million deal. He led the Seahawks to the postseason in his first year and was selected as an alternate for the 2013 Pro Bowl.
In his second year in the league, Wilson managed to bring the Seahawks the Super Bowl Championship, making him the second black quarterback to win a Super Bowl and the shortest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. The Seahawks once again made it to the Super Bowl in 2014, only to have Wilson throw an interception that was picked off by Patriots cornerback, Malcolm Butler.
2021 was his final year in Seattle, and in March of 2022, the Seahawks traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Russell Wilson’s contract with the Broncos is a five-year, $245 million deal.
