Philip Rivers is a former quarterback in the NFL who played for 17 seasons, primarily with the Chargers. He was the NFL comeback player of the year in 2013 and was selected to eight Pro Bowls. Philip Rivers played college football for NC State before entering the 2004 NFL Draft. He was selected fourth overall by the New York Giants who immediately traded him to the San Diego Chargers. He was their backup quarterback for the first two seasons of his career before serving as their starting quarterback from 2006-2009. Rivers was able to lead the Chargers to six postseason appearances and four division titles, however, he was never able to make a Super Bowl appearance. He retired fifth all-time in passing yards and touchdowns and is considered one of the best quarterbacks to have never played in a Super Bowl.
