Pete Carroll is the current head coach and executive vice president of the Seattle Seahawks. Carroll is from San Francisco, California and earned his high school’s Athlete of the Year honors as a senior in 1969. He entered the NFL as a defensive back coach for the Buffalo Bills in 1984. Ten years later, Carroll accepted a job as the head coach of the Jets, but was unfortunately fired after just one season. He went on to coach the San Francisco 49ers defensive team before replacing coach Bill Parcells of the New England Patriots in 1997. Carroll decided to take his chances coaching college football and was the head coach of the Trojans from 2000-2009, where he won six bowl games and back to back National Championships.
