The NBA Draft is an annual event in which NBA teams draft players who are eligible to play in the NBA. The event can be dated back to 1947. Any college player who has finished their four-year college eligibility is automatically eligible for selection, while underclassmen have to declare their eligibility and give up their remaining college eligibility before they can enter the draft. Players from other countries must be at least 22 to be automatically eligible for selection, while international players under 22 years old must declare their eligibility. As of 2006, high school players can only be drafted one year after the date of their high school graduation and must also be 19 as of the end of the calendar year.
