Mecole Hardman played college football for The University of Georgia before entering the 2019 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Chiefs as the 56th pick overall. In his first year in the league, the Chiefs made it to Super Bowl LIV and Hardman returned three kicks for 58 yards in the win.
In 2022, he became the first wide receiver to get two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown in the same game. Hardman was placed on injured reserve due to an abdomen injury during Week 9 but was later activated on January 4, 2023. Although he returned in the AFC Championship Game, he injured his abdomen again and was not able to play in Super Bowl LVII.
Hardman later signed with the New York Jets on March 23, 2023.
