Marlon Humphrey is an American professional football player who currently plays as a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2019, was selected to the Pro Bowl three times (2019, 2020, 2022), and has also become one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. Marlon Humphrey was born on July 8, 1996, in Hoover, Alabama, and attended Hoover High School before going on to play college football at the University of Alabama. During his college career, Humphrey established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the country and was named an All-American in 2016. After declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft, he was selected in the first round (16th overall) by the Baltimore Ravens.
In his rookie season, Humphrey quickly established himself as a key player on the Ravens’ defense and helped the team reach the playoffs. In October 2020, he signed a five-year, $97.5 million contract extension with the Ravens. He recorded his first career full sack and forced a fumble on wide receiver Mike Thomas, which was returned for a touchdown by teammate Patrick Queen in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In December 2021, Humphrey suffered a season-ending torn pectoral muscle injury, but he returned to his starting role in the beginning of the 2022 season and had his first interception of the year in a game against the New England Patriots.
Off the field, Humphrey is known for his philanthropic work and is actively involved in several charitable organizations, including the Marlon Humphrey Foundation, which aims to provide resources and support to underprivileged youth in Alabama.
