Marcus Mariota was drafted second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft. That same year he had the best-selling NFL jersey in the league. He became the youngest quarterback to reach the perfect passer rating at 21 years old, 318 days. He was named a Pro Bowl first alternate in 2016 after throwing for 3,426 yards. Mariota helped lead the Titans to three consecutive winning seasons before he was replaced by Ryan Tannehill halfway through the 2019 season.
Marcus Mariota signed a two-year, $17.6 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2020. He made his Raiders debut in 2020 and played as a backup quarterback to Derek Carr for the 2021 season. Mariota signed a two-year, $18.75 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons in March 2022 and was named the starting quarterback for the 2022 season. However, he was later benched in favor of rookie Desmond Ridder and then placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. On March 20, 2023, Mariota signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
